Moment — Privacy Policy
Moment is a local-only photo and audio app. This privacy policy describes how the app handles your information.
Data we collect
Moment does not collect, transmit, or sell your personal data.
- Photos you capture stay on your device.
- Audio you record stays on your device.
- Synchronization metadata (the shutter position within the audio) stays on your device.
- No account is required.
- No analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs are included.
How your data is stored
- Media is stored in the app’s private Application Support storage on your iPhone.
- Metadata is stored in a local SQLite database on your device.
- Deleting a Moment permanently removes its photo, audio, and metadata from the app.
- Uninstalling the app removes all app-managed data.
What happens when you share
- Shared copies are governed by the destination app (Messages, AirDrop, Files, etc.).
- Moment does not transmit your media to any developer-controlled server.
- Sharing is always initiated by you through the native iOS share sheet.
Permissions
- Camera: Used to create the photo in each Moment. Requested only when you open the capture screen.
- Microphone: Used to record the sound around your photo. Requested only when you open the capture screen. Because the sound is half of a Moment, capture needs microphone access — if it is denied, Moment explains why and offers a shortcut to Settings.
Device backups
Your Moments are included in device backups (iCloud or local) according to your Apple settings. Moment does not control backup behavior.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this URL and included with the next app update.
